We are delighted to officially announce our upcoming Kilkenny Sustainable Art Show 2024 which will open on Saturday 18th May which is the first day of Kilkenny Biodiversity Week at Kilkenny County Council.

This is a group exhibition. Work will be displayed by four Irish artists who create art from organic or sustainable materials or explore the concept of biodiversity and sustainability in their practices. Artists are Jennie Castle, Marco Di Sante, Mary Doyle Burke, and Mairead Holohan. The exhibition will be curated by Mary Doyle Burke who works as both an artist and curator.
There will be a series of workshops and talks which will take place each Saturday facilitated by the artists:
Workshop 1 - Papermaking from organic materials Marco Di Sante and Mary Doyle Burke on Saturday 1st June. €40 per person.
Workshop 2 - Charcoal biodiversity workshop Jennie Castle Sat 8th June €40 per person.
Workshop 3 - Pigment making from plants Mairead Holohan Sat 15th June €40 per person.
€100 option for all 3 workshops.
The artists will also hold a ReWILD Day on Saturday 25th May on the last day of Kilkenny Biodiversity Week at the gallery which will incorporate discussions on biodiversity and sustainability in the city and we will extend our explorations out into the city on a walk to look at exploring the role of urban rewilding in mitigating biodiversity loss, and exploring change and resilience in our city, which will be followed by a light organically prepared lunch and refreshments. Rewild Day is free and does not require booking. Lunch however is €20 per person and requires booking.
